Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs and Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh Discuss Strengthening Religious and Educational Cooperation

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh met on Monday, 12 January, with His Excellency Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta. Ambassador Balfakeeh conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Dr Mohammed Ali Shabibah, Minister of Endowments and Guidance. The meeting also addressed the current developments in Yemen, with appreciation expressed for the Indonesian government’s position on these developments. The two sides further reviewed the historic relations between the two countries, discussed ways to strengthen them, and stressed the importance of reactivating the joint committees. The two sides also discussed mechanisms for sending Indonesian students to study in Yemen, with the aim of ensuring high-quality educational outcomes that serve Indonesia and the wider Islamic world.
