Indonesia’s Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology and Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh Discuss Strengthening Academic and Scientific Cooperation

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh met on Thursday morning, 2 July 2026, with His Excellency Professor Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the fields of higher education, scientific research and technology, as well as the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries. They also discussed the resumption and expansion of scholarship programmes and cultural and academic exchanges, with a view to strengthening partnerships between Yemeni and Indonesian universities and serving the mutual interests of both countries. Both sides emphasised the importance of maintaining coordination and joint efforts to further develop academic and scientific relations, reflecting the depth of bilateral relations between the Republic of Yemen and the Republic of Indonesia.
