Indonesia’s Minister of Culture and Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh Discuss Strengthening Cultural Cooperation

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh held talks on Thursday, 19 February 2026, with His Excellency Fadli Zon, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, on ways to strengthen and further develop cultural cooperation between the Republic of Yemen and the Republic of Indonesia. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Culture in Jakarta. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed prospects for advancing the cultural partnership and activating joint initiatives and programmes in a manner that reflects the deep historical and civilisational ties between the two brotherly peoples and strengthens the role of cultural diplomacy in consolidating and supporting bilateral relations. Both sides emphasised the importance of building on their shared cultural heritage and pursuing practical cooperation projects that contribute to expanding cultural cooperation and increasing joint activities in the coming period. The meeting was attended by a number of officials from the Indonesian Ministry of Culture.
