Indonesia’s Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly and Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh Discuss Strengthening Yemen-Indonesia Parliamentary Relations

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh met on Monday, 23 February 2026, with Dr. Muhammad Hidayat Nur Wahid, Deputy Speaker of Indonesia’s People’s Consultative Assembly, during a visit to his office in Jakarta. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest developments in the Republic of Yemen and discussed ways to strengthen and further develop bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the parliamentary field. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. Both sides emphasised the importance of maintaining communication and coordination in a manner that reflects the depth of the historical relations between the two peoples, serves their mutual interests, and strengthens cooperation between the parliamentary institutions of the two countries. The meeting was attended by Counsellor Nasser Saeed Ibrahim.
