Indonesia’s Deputy Foreign Minister and Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Reactivating the Joint Committee

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh held talks on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, with Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arrmanatha Nasir, on bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen and further develop them. The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. The meeting addressed the latest developments in the region, as well as a number of other issues of mutual interest. The two sides also emphasised the importance of strengthening bilateral coordination and consultations at international forums. They further discussed ways to expand cooperation across various sectors through the reactivation of the Yemen-Indonesia Joint Committee, reflecting the depth of the historical relations between the two countries.
