Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh Receives Former Indonesian Foreign Minister Dr Alwi Shihab

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh received former Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Alwi Shihab at the Embassy on Monday, 17 November. During the meeting, the Ambassador and Dr Shihab exchanged cordial remarks and reviewed the historic relations between Yemen and Indonesia. They also highlighted the distinguished role played by Dr Shihab, who is of Hadrami origin, through his three visits to Yemen, particularly to Hadramout, in strengthening the bonds of kinship between the two brotherly countries and peoples. The two sides also discussed ways to enhance and further develop bilateral cooperation and to build on the shared historical legacy that unites the two countries. It is worth noting that Dr Alwi Shihab serves as an adviser to Medco Energi, a company specialising in the oil, gas, and clean energy sectors, with business operations in Yemen.
