Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh and Indonesia’s Director for Middle East Affairs Discuss Finalising the Political Consultations MoU

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh met on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, with Mr Ahrul Sani Fathur Rahman, Director for Middle East Affairs at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the Republic of Yemen and the Republic of Indonesia and explored ways to strengthen and further develop them. They also discussed a number of issues of mutual interest. The two sides reviewed the ongoing arrangements for finalising the draft Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and putting the final touches on the document in preparation for completing the necessary procedures for its signing. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing coordination and consultations in a manner that contributes to strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries.
