Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh and Indonesia’s Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman Discuss Enhanced Cooperation and Facilitating Procedures for Yemeni Citizens

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh met on Thursday, 4 December 2025, with Mr. Yuldi Yusman, Acting Director General of Immigration of the Republic of Indonesia, at the headquarters of Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and discussed ways to strengthen and further develop them. They also explored prospects for cooperation and coordination between the Embassy and the Indonesian immigration authorities, including procedures for issuing visas and residence permits, with the aim of facilitating services for Yemeni citizens while ensuring compliance with the applicable laws and regulations. The two sides also discussed several issues of mutual interest, including strengthening channels of communication and addressing certain matters related to consular procedures. They further discussed the situation of refugees registered with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and ways to address their cases within the framework of Indonesian law and humanitarian considerations, in a manner that contributes to improving the services provided to Yemeni citizens. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasised the importance of continuing such meetings and further developing mechanisms for joint cooperation and coordination in a manner that serves mutual interests and strengthens the fraternal ties between Yemen and Indonesia. The meeting was attended by Counsellor Nasser Saeed Ibrahim and a number of senior officials from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration.
