Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh Discusses Strengthening Trade Cooperation with Sheikh Awad Al-Naqeeb

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh met today, Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Embassy in Jakarta with Yemeni businessman Sheikh Awad bin Abdullah Al-Naqeeb, who is currently visiting Indonesia. The meeting discussed opportunities to strengthen trade relations between the two countries and ways for the Yemeni private sector to benefit from the memorandum of understanding signed in the field of halal product assurance, contributing to expanding the presence of Yemeni products in the Indonesian market. Ambassador Balfakeeh commended the leading role played by Bin Awad Al-Naqeeb Group in the industrial and food sectors, affirming the Embassy’s commitment to supporting Yemeni businesspeople and facilitating their engagement with relevant Indonesian authorities in a manner that enhances opportunities for partnership and investment. For his part, Sheikh Awad Al-Naqeeb praised the Embassy’s efforts, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination to further strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the Republic of Yemen and the Republic of Indonesia.
