Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh Discusses Development Cooperation and Support for Yemen’s Recovery with Indonesian Foreign Ministry Official

His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh met on Monday, 13 July 2026, with Ms Rina Setiyowati, Director for International Development Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen development cooperation between the Republic of Yemen and the Republic of Indonesia, as well as opportunities to benefit from programmes offered by the Indonesian Agency for International Development (Indonesian AID), in support of recovery, development and capacity-building efforts in Yemen. The meeting also addressed the expansion of cooperation in several priority sectors, particularly education, health and agriculture, in addition to developing the capacities of national personnel and exchanging expertise and development experience. Both sides emphasised the importance of continuing coordination and consultations and working to activate development cooperation programmes in a manner that strengthens the bilateral partnership and serves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries.
