Ambassador Salem Balfakeeh Attends Annual Session of Indonesia’s People’s Consultative Assembly in Presence of President Prabowo
His Excellency Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh attended on Friday, August 14, 2026, the State of the Nation Address delivered by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto at the opening of the annual session of the People’s Consultative Assembly and the joint session of the House of Representatives and the Regional Representatives Council. The session was held at the Nusantara Building within the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence.
The session was attended, alongside heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Indonesia, by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, former Indonesian President Joko Widodo, a number of former vice presidents, heads of constitutional institutions, and members of the Government.
In his address, President Prabowo reviewed his Government’s achievements and priorities, including achieving self-sufficiency in food and energy, developing human resources, and strengthening the national economy. On foreign policy, the address highlighted Indonesia’s continued efforts to promote peace and Palestinian independence, strengthen ASEAN, and expand its international partnerships, while reaffirming the guiding principle of its foreign policy: “A thousand friends are few, while one enemy is too many.”
The Ambassador’s participation in this national occasion reflects the Embassy’s commitment to participating in the official and national events of the host country, in a manner that contributes to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
