Ambassador Balfakeeh Offers Condolences to Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives

H.E. Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh, on Friday, 2 October 2026, on his own behalf and on behalf of the members of the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Jakarta, offered his condolences to H.E. Mrs. Puan Maharani, Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives and a senior figure in the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), on the passing of her uncle, the late Mohammad Guruh Irianto Soekarnoputra, son of Indonesia’s first President, Sukarno, and brother of former Indonesian President and Chairperson of the party, Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri. Ambassador Balfakeeh expressed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to Her Excellency, her family, and the Indonesian people on this sad loss. He also conveyed the heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy of the Speaker of the Yemeni House of Representatives, Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, to Her Excellency and her family.
