Ambassador Balfakeeh Meets Indonesia’s Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection

H.E. Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh met on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, with H.E. Ms. Arifah Choiri Fauzi, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the fields of women’s empowerment and child protection. Ambassador Balfakeeh underscored the pivotal role of women in building society and promoting stability. Ambassador Balfakeeh also briefed the Minister on the latest developments in Yemen following the declaration of general mobilization by H.E. Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the launch of Operation “Fajr Al-Yemen,” which aims to restore the remaining territories of the Republic of Yemen and re-establish the authority of the state and its institutions throughout the country. The Ambassador explained that the declaration came after all available opportunities for de-escalation and the achievement of sustainable peace had been exhausted, amid the continued mobilization and escalation by the Houthi militia, its ongoing attacks, threats to civilians, vital facilities and neighboring countries, and the risks posed to international navigation and global supply chains. Ambassador Balfakeeh reaffirmed the Yemeni Government’s efforts to protect its citizens and safeguard Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, security and stability, in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of the Yemeni people for a just and lasting peace that ends their suffering and lays the foundations for a secure future based on equal citizenship and the rule of law.
