Ambassador Balfakeeh Discusses Strengthening Academic and Educational Cooperation with Universitas Negeri Jakarta

H.E. Ambassador Salem Ahmed Balfakeeh received Mr. Andi Hadiyanto, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Business at Universitas Negeri Jakarta, accompanied by a number of university officials, at the Embassy on Thursday, 10 September 2026. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen academic and educational cooperation, including scholarship opportunities and academic exchange, with particular emphasis on scientific and specialized fields that meet Yemen’s development needs. The Ambassador welcomed the initiatives presented and reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting and expanding academic and educational cooperation with Universitas Negeri Jakarta and Yemeni universities, in coordination with the relevant authorities in both countries, in a manner that ensures the proper organization and sustainability of the programs and maximizes their intended benefits. The two sides also discussed the possibility of organizing a “Yemen Day” at the university to introduce Yemeni culture and heritage and further strengthen cultural and academic ties between the two countries.
